- Forensic psychiatry 10-2/2018-19, Tamarind Centre, BSMHFT: Mainly looking after a group of around 14 inpatients in a medium secure hospital as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Catchment area is the now historical BEN PCT and Solihull PCT.
- Clerking admissions to the team involving history taking, mental and physical examinations and arranging investigations. Preparing admission summaries. Reviewing all inpatients and presenting at team meetings.
- Various meetings; academic program, clinical audit, front-line junior doctor. Being part of the duty doctor rota dealing with urgent issues on the wards.
- Non-resident, 1 in 7 for men’s forensic service. Around 180 inpatients and 120 outpatients in total. Responsible for providing urgent / emergency medical care primarily to the inpatients though. Handover is to the relevant clinical team the next working day.
- Assertive outreach team 2/2019-8/2019, Adams Hill Centre, BSMHFT: The trainee works with the South Assertive Outreach Team and Grove Avenue Psychiatric Rehabilitation Unit. The trainee has the responsibility of clerking patients on admission to the acute wards, when taken on by AOT or admitted to rehabilitation units, completing physical examinations, requesting appropriate investigations and formulating initial management plans including consideration of biological and psycho-social interventions. This also includes the assessment of risk. The trainee completes regular mental state examinations on the in-patients and present relevant information in ward rounds. He is involved in emergency assessments both on-call and with the AOT. The trainee provides handovers to on-call colleagues as necessary.
- Eating disorders service 8/2019-2/2020, Barberry, BSMHFT: The trainee has the responsibility of clerking patients on admission to the eating disorder ward, attending ward round and participate in management plans for inpatients. Assessment and follow up of clients in the eating disorders clinic.
