During my placement at the Norris Museum, I was able to put into action the knowledge I am developing during my MA regarding collections management and preventive conservation

• Researched and implemented Emergency Plan and Salvage Guide which included emergency evacuation for staff and visitors across a range of disasters, floor plans, emergency contacts, emergency team roles, locations and in-depth salvage guide for the rehabilitation of a wide range of object materials.
• Supported deputy director/collections manager in daily management and movement of collections for display, storage, study, research and loans.
• Handled and managed a wide range of heritage material such as human remains and entomological collections
• Accessioning
• Carrying out and managing condition reports
• Conservation cleaning objects and works of art
• Visiting loan sites and carrying out condition reports
• Environmental monitoring of stores and exhibition spaces including IPM
• Installing and de-installing exhibitions including large scale artworks and small archaeological finds
• Provided hands on curatorial assistance during exhibition installation
• After placement, voluntarily continuing to develop a conservation plan for the Entomological collection.

During my time at Curating Cambridge, I have learned to confidently lead a small team, across some of the University of Cambridge Museums Shops. This involved:

• Time management
• Task delegation
• Outstanding customer service
• Problem solving
• Billing and invoice management
• Visual Merchandising
• Applied my general interest in books, their relativity to the Fitzwilliam Museum collection to collate an extensive and unique collection of books that are both appealing and interesting to the consumer.

I started the Sea Hag Studio in November 2020 after learning the basic skills of silversmithing. This included the following:

• Developing my own business and being a one-woman team
• Creating, selling and posting jewellery to a worldwide audience
• Delegating my time between making jewellery, packing and posting orders, customer service enquiries & manage finances
• During this time my skills as a silversmith naturally evolved and I now have a wide breadth of knowledge of the craft and can perform a variety of silversmith techniques.

• My role at Lisa Angel allowed me to become confident within managerial tasks
• I learnt how to effectively manage a team to allow for great success rate within sales and ensured all my colleagues were working comfortably and efficiently
• Due to my design background, I also had some training within visual merchandising.

• Working alongside Aviva allowed me to become confident with my skills in textiles and design
• I learnt how to use natures natural resources, such as natural dyes and mud, to create unique and vibrant prints and patterns
• I also learnt some skills in workshopping.

• My role at Lush led me to complete adequate training in successful customer service, natural skincare and ingredient training and creating a comfortable atmosphere
• I won several daily challenges regarding sale success and learnt to work coherently within a team and leading
• I also learned the ins and outs of creating exciting and aesthetic social media content.
