My responsibilities were to arrive at 6am on my given shift and collect the golf balls on the driving range with a team of usually 2-4 others and clear the range to maintain that there were enough balls in supply to keep the range stocked up to run for a couple days until it needed redoing again.

The job required:

-good organization skills to pick up the balls in a fast and efficient way.

-Good teamwork skills to ensure each person knew where they were picking the balls and to ensure we didn't get in each others way hence slowing the operation down.

-Good communication skills to allow me to communicate with my colleagues as to which way I believe the job could be done fastest.

This job required me to arrive on time at 08:30 AM and listen to a debrief of who will be visiting the centre that day and what activities we will be conducting that day. The work experience gave me significant progress in communication skills as I had to provide activity lessons to a group of 8-12 people and gave me a great indication of what work is like in a larger workplace. This work experience improved my communication skills, team working skills, organization skills, problem solving skills and leadership skills.
