Leading the strategic development, management and impact measurement of The Rothschild Foundation’s philanthropy for Arts, Communities and Environment, reporting directly to CEO and Trustees. I oversee a grant-making budget of approx. £13 million per annum across a range of programmes, with grants ranging from £5K - £500K. Direct support of the Grants Committee, Management Committee and Audit and Risk Committee. Operational responsibility for Waddesdon Manor, as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Management, HR and professional development of Grants Team, including restructuring and new roles to deliver effective, efficient and proportionate grantmaking.
  • Providing exceptional support and reporting to Trustees, enabling growth of grants budget from £8M - £13M.
  • Implemented grant-making software Blackbaud, resulting in increased efficiencies and consistency in reporting for the Foundation and its customers.
  • Implemented the DEI Data Standard, Access Support Fund, and recruitment of Community Outreach Manager, effectively contributing to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Led the Foundation’s response to the cost of living crisis, allocating emergency support for local charities and multi-partnership funding programmes aimed at systemic change, alongside a wellbeing support programme for staff.
  • Leading a Better Food and Farming funder collaboration with the Environmental Funders Network and Esmee Fairbairn whilst supporting a group of food and farming NGOs to convene around new ways of working.
  • SLT Sustainability Champion, spearheading the creation of a Conservation Hub at Waddesdon Manor and launching a new Green Fund, supporting grantees to locally respond to climate change.
  • Original Steering Committee member of ACF Stronger Foundations initiative with the Rothschild Foundation used as an example of best practice.
