As a dental therapist working in a fully private setting, I utilise my full scope of practice, working both on a referral basis and through direct access. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing routine hygiene appointments to a high standard, ensuring the maintenance of healthy gums
• Providing periodontal treatment to stabilise periodontal disease and prevent further progression
• Conducting routine check-ups for both adults and children, ensuring comprehensive oral health assessments
• Diagnosing and treatment planning within competence
• Supporting the dentist in managing orthodontic clear aligner cases, including using the Itero scanner to enhance practice efficiency
• Delivering restorative treatments on adult and deciduous teeth to restore optimal function and aesthetics
• Promoting overall oral health through comprehensive preventive care and patient education

• Provided urgent care and routine treatments to patients who do not have routine access to NHS dental care
• Maintained detailed patient records, ensuring accurate history and treatment plans
• Greeted patients and helped with completing intake and consent forms
• Performed dental x-rays for more thorough diagnosis and treatment planning
