I am an enthusiastic, motivated, and hard-working individual. I will always try and achieve things to the best of my ability, with strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving. I am friendly and approachable and find it easy to get along with anyone I encounter. I can work in both a team environment and independently using my initiative. In addition to this, I have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to assist people.
During peak season, I was a cashier/front worker for the Stowmarket Tesco. As a cashier at Tesco, I gained valuable experience in providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment and as a team worker. The fast-paced environment has aided my ability to work efficiently under pressure, alongside quick thinking, and ensure customers' queries were resolved promptly. This job also showed me the ability to work well in group settings, as commonly, on the busier days, we would be grouped up in pairs to have one person packing and one person operating the till. This ability was vital when working in customer service, as it taught me the value of teamwork and being able to communicate effectively with others. In addition to being a cashier, I would provide additional support around the store, assisting customers in finding different products and helping other workers with bagging and organising shelves.
During my time at the opportunity group, I worked within a team comprised of 4 other women. I was tasked with the role of shadowing the other workers and supervising children with additional needs (aged 1 - 5). I helped the children learn how to play and interact with others their age and ensured their safety by closely monitoring them. Moreover, I would help create new and engaging activities for the children to partake in. During the time the children weren't at the Group, I would assist in cleaning duties and making sure the children's play areas were set up safely. This experience gave me an insight into what the group do to help parents of the children navigate having a child who may need additional support in the future and how I can help support these children down the line.
