In Febuary of 2026 I was offered the promotion to the shift leader role. I completed an extensive 12-week training course, including an in-person 2 day Leadership Transition course to enhance my skills, build my confidence and prepare me for my role. A few examples of what my role includes:

  • Coordinating, training, and mentoring team members. Ensuring a skilled and high-performing group.
  • Resolving customer complaints with efficiency and courtesy, turning dissatisfied guests into repeat customers.
  • Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
  • Managing cash handling processes, including till reconciliation and deposit preparation, with zero discrepancies.
  • Planning and communicating daily manufacturing tasks and targets.

Oakleaf Close McDonald's opened lots of opportunities for me including being promoted to the crew trainer position in 2024. My job role as a Crew Trainer was to corrective coach crew on procedures and ensure that all targets and procedures were to a gold standard. How I achieved this:
