Ballroom and Latin

At UEA's Ballroom and Latin Dance Club I am proud to have been elected Social Secretary, Team Captain and Vice President. I am the current President of the club until I graduate this year.

I hadn't danced ballroom and latin before joining the sports club in my first term at UEA, however, I wanted to try something new and this decision has shaped my university and personal experience in an incredibly positive way. I find it very rewarding and enjoy teaching students of all ages hosting weekly lessons at university and visiting schools where the students are younger.

I have been competing across the UK for four years.

Recent achievements of note:

  • 5th place Acrobatic Rock n' Roll at IVDC Nationals in Blackpool.
  • 1st place Acrobatic Rock n' Roll Leicester Competition.
  • 1st place Same-sex Cha and Jive at UEA competition against Cambridge, London Imperial, King's College, Kent and Leicester.

Cheerleading Stunt

  • Joined UEA Angels in 2020 and have stunted as a flyer, base and front spot.
  • I was elected Team Captain for the second team in 2021.
  • My coaches awarded me 'Captain's Choice Award' and the 'UEA Angel Award'
  • The sport allows me to help and aid others in achieving the best they can.
  • I enjoy encouraging others and being a part of a team that utilises hard work and trust in all that they do.

Taekwondo

  • I have attended Black Belt First Defence School since the age of seven
  • I have successfully been awarded all levels up to and including Black Tag.
  • At the Green Belt grading I was awarded best graded student.

County Badminton

  • Selected to play for Cornwall's U15 badminton team at the age of thirteen.
