Summary

I am an English Literature undergraduate at Durham University looking for a part time waitressing job. I have worked for two years at a Greek Cypriot restaurant, The Village Taverna in Ware. Working in a small local restaurant gave me a lot of hands on experience working in all areas of the restaurant. I am experienced in both table service and bar work and have a detailed understanding of restaurant structure and expectations. I am trained in POS systems and table-side serving with understanding of food and beverage pairings. I would say the trait I was most valued for at my previous job was my high level of competency in maintaining speed and accuracy during busy hours aided by my ability to problem solve and remain calm and accomodating. I am very familiar with having to mediate both customers and other stuff in periods of tension whilst remaining upbeat and determined. I have experience in managing less experienced staff, which I achieve through utilizing their strengths with amiability and encouragement. However, I myself am also competent in following orders in an efficient and satisfactory manor. Waitressing is a passion of mine and ensuring the work environment is a comfortable place for both staff and customers is most important to me.
