ELIJAH PALMER

I have volunteered at a community food bank on a Monday, for the last few months. The food bank is based within a children's charity. The Charity and food bank are located on an inner city estate near to the LRI hospital.

I started volunteering at the food bank during the Easter holidays and I enjoyed meeting new people each week. After Easter i continued to volunteer in the school holidays. After i had finished my gcse's, i volunteered every Monday and this continued throughout all of the summer holidays and before i started at WQE.

I met many different people whilst volunteering there and enjoyed communicating with them each week. I was hoping to carry on but at the moment my Monday timetable doesn't give me enough time on that day.

My roles within this job included cash handling, keeping brief records, setting up and closing down and making up food pantry hampers with a variety of food, fresh and frozen. I also had to be aware of dietary needs for each member.
