Managing 90+ staff in the private sector has helped me gain and develop Management and Leadership skills that it would have probably taken me a lot longer as a Band 6 or 7 in the NHS. Beside Managing the Clinical aspects of the Nursing Home, I was chairing the Monthly Governance Meetings, all staff, families and residents meetings, I had budget responsibilities, I was ordering medical equipment, making sure we stay ahead of recruitment in order to have minimal to no agency and I was responsible for the ordering and stock of the medication, safety, infection control audits and weekly/monthly quality improvement reports. I was also dealing with all the CQC and Safeguarding notifications and follow ups, compliments and complaints.
Responsible for carrying out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluation for patients is provided from admission through to discharge.
Some of the feedback received over the last couple of years:
'Hi Elena,
This is just a short note to say thanks and well done for doing such a great job on the ClinDocs build, delivering to deadlines at really high quality. We know that the management of the shared team has been a challenge at times and that you have worked tirelessly to develop a really positive ethos across the team. I have a card for you in the office and hopefully (if I can find them) a voucher for a well-earned coffee and cake; but it might have to wait until next week given the challenge with the trains'
Many thanks' ( Richard Collins - Connect DHR Programme Director)
