Summary

I am a dedicated professional with my own online English School because for almost 10 years I have had a passion for assisting studies and promoting confidence in others, enhanced by counselling studies to level 2.

With extensive experience in marine and veterinary science, imparting advanced knowledge to degree and PhD students, I became a teacher, a mentor and friend.

Currently I find myself engaged in writing educational books and creating AI-assisted illustrations to support children's grammar and vocabulary development. I like to combine my artistic creativity with a strong scientific background, fostering an engaging learning environment.

I have interesting work at sea and an extreme sport scuba hobbies that students are always curious about. I also appreciate and understand the difficulties more than most about living in another country and trying to learn the language after 6 years in Sicily, a truly amazing and historically fantastic place.

Skills

Skills acquired over the years

It has come to my attention that I am happiest assisting, promoting, and encouraging confidence in others So I studied counselling to level 2 to further my listening and communication skills This has proved invaluable

I am a keen scuba diver, my love for the ocean and science came into its own in the marine and veterinary science periods of my career Students are always keen to know more I always helped the learners to practice their underwater skills

While I did not complete my degree after basic High School GCSEs and ONC in Biology at Belfast Tech It was due to starting a family and a very problematic pregnancy and poorly baby at a young age I certainly gained a lot more knowledge with self study during my scientific career I taught many degree and PhD students a lot more than their degree level in the laboratories, to their shock!

I am currently writing books and creating pictures with AI to assist children with KET level grammar and vocabulary My artistic, creative side enjoys this and also crafts, while my very poor drawing skills give students great amusement! I use my lack of this skill to make an important curriculum point memorable!

I love travel and learning about cultures and their festivals I achieved the TEFL 4 week course and on completion of the exams in grammar and phonetics the Tefl school wanted to employ me I moved to Sicily, lived and worked there and learnt the language for 6 years This experience alone taught me about translation apps and word order difficulties and also pronunciation issues in English, in different countries around the world
