Eeshal Sahal

This experience helped me gain valuable skills which can be transferred into any job type. It included involvements such as :

• Shadowing professionals at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, primarily at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick and also at Birmingham City Hospital
• Observing medical staff managing complex, sensitive situations, including communication with a distressed, non-English-speaking patient
• Gaining insight into patient care, professional communication, and difficult end-of-life discussions
• Attending multidisciplinary meetings and learned how healthcare teams work collaboratively

I am also developing further experience with an upcoming placement at a local GP clinic in July which would allow me to further gain knowledge to improve on my communication skills and my ability to manage difficult situations quickly and efficiently.
