  • As Head of Athletics at SGS, my role developed to incorporate the management of budgets and resources to strategise effective SMART short, medium and long-term plans
  • In addition to this, I managed a team of community coaches to effectively grow and run the SGS Juniors Athletics academy, a project that was newly built during my time at the college to provide opportunities to 120+ young people
  • I was also responsible for supporting neurodivergent learners closely by developing appropriate Educational Healthcare Plans and I have a wealth of safeguarding experience.

Volunteering

  • Media Assistant, British Indoor Athletics Championships 2022, 2023, British Outdoor Athletics Championships 2023 & Diamond League 2022, 2023; Responsible for ensuring that journalists and photographers were professional and respectful of the athletes’ wishes with regards to photography and interviews when working in the mixed zone. These roles involve a lot of interaction with athletes, requiring a clear understanding of the personal needs of an athlete, as well as strong knowledge of the sport of athletics and of the functioning of an elite athletics event.
  • Doping Control Team, 3x3 Basketball/Para-Basketball, Commonwealth Games 2022; Selected to work with UK Anti-Doping control team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham to escort athletes to the relevant testing stations throughout the competition week. This role required extreme amounts of professional and tactical management whilst also adapting to support the athletes & para-athletes in very sensitive situations.
