  • Provide customer service to fellow staff, to the prisoners, and to their visiting families, by accepting incoming contacts and offering impartial advice to help them with the instructions for prison visits and processes.
  • Log call details accurately to ensure conversations, and any information shared, are in accordance with prison policies, and flag any conversation of concern to superiors, following up on further actions if necessary.
  • Implement in improving prison processes for better Business as Usual (BAU) and compliance evidence.
  • Actively participate in team functions to contribute to our overall collective success (such as by providing physical help, information, and impartial advice to colleagues, helping to cover shifts where necessary, and maintaining a healthy rapport with all team members).
  • Facilitate Incident Learning Reviews (ILRs) on incidents with security lapses, note down actions and provide support with tracking those actions.
  • Share lessons learnt in monthly meetings and provide support to new OSGs.
  • Remain up to date with changes in the working environment through active participation in the daily Team Briefing process.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant prison policies and associated database reference sources (such as C-NOMIS) in order to provide accurate and up-to-date prison and prisoner information.
