Brief descriptions of each role

  • Cardiff City FC, Kitchen porter, Cardiff City stadium, 01/01/15, 12/31/16 - This was my first official job when I was 16. It was a very fast paced environment as we had hundreds of plates, cutlery and drinks having to be cleaned because there would be a football game on or an event of some sort in which there would be lots of guests. This was on top of the pots, pans and other equipment the chefs would use and need back shortly after to continue preparing the food. In this job I learned how to be more organised and planned so that I could work as efficient and effective as I possibly could.
  • River Island, Floor Staff, Cardiff central, 01/01/17, 12/31/18, - I worked here as a Christmas temp employee and managed to learn good social skills by having to communicate with customers who are purchasing or enquiring about the products, and also having to solve problems if people have claimed the goods have been damaged and want a refund.
  • Poundland, Floor staff, Cardiff Central, 01/01/18, 12/31/19 - This job was quite similar to the job I had at River Island as it needed the same social skills to help out customers whenever I possibly could, whilst also maintaining high level of professionalism and carry out my work.
  • Manhire, Valet/Cleaner, Cardiff Council, 07/01/22, 11/30/22 - Again, this job was a very fast paced environment because we had plenty of vehicles to wash and clean for the council which ranged from the Bin trucks to a normal car. The mechanics would need these vehicles done ASAP and to a good quality or the vehicle would come back to be cleaned again which helped me learn that the first time I do a job should be done to certain standards and they should not drop.
  • ActiveQuote, New Business Sales Co-ordinator, 12/01/22, 07/31/23 - Working at ActiveQuote was my first job working in a call centre environment which meant I had to learn and adapt to office working. My role as a sales co-ordinator was to make outbound calls to customers who have made enquiries online for different types of insurance such as private medical insurance, income protection and life insurance. Once I was on the phone with a potential customer I would follow my script to make sure I was sticking to our compliance and GDPR regulations. After I have gone through the script with them, I would then organise and transfer them through to the correct advisor to make sure that they would get the best advice and help to get a policy that would suit their needs.
  • ActiveQuote, Renewal Co-ordinator, 07/01/23, 05/31/24 - This role was similar to the new business sales co-ordinator role however, it was dealing with our current customers. This role required me to be more organised as I would take on more responsibilities by having to email back and forth with customers, arrange call backs with customers who can only speak during times when they're not working. I would also email and call insurers if there have been any issues regarding active policies or if people are looking to cancel their policy, make sure that it gets actioned so it does not roll over and take payments from our customers.
  • Cambria Stage Crew, Local events crew, 05/01/24 - Being a member of a local team means doing hands-on tasks like loading and unloading vehicles, constructing sets, stages, and helping production groups with brand events. This job is often hard on the body and tends to be seen as a seasonal role.
  • Acorn recruitment, Bin loader, 14/10/24 - Reliable and physically fit bin loader with experience in waste collection and recycling operations. Skilled in safely handling heavy bins, working effectively as part of a team and following strict health and safety procedures. Committed to maintaining cleanliness, punctuality, and a strong work ethic while ensuring timely and efficient waste disposal services. Able to communicate with the team and the public, with a positive attitude toward physically demanding outdoor work.
