I’m currently in my last year of school studying A-Levels where I have received 5 university offers from Cardiff, Swansea, Liverpool, Liverpool John Moore's and Manchester.

However, during this time I have decided that completing an apprenticeship and working in the gas and heating industry is the best option for me because I would prefer to work in more of a hands-on, technical and fault diagnosis type of environment.

My father has been a proprietor of a gas safe registered business since 1995, and I have seen firsthand what is involved in the job.

I have helped my father on several occasions and some of the jobs I have worked on include mechanical plumbing, replacement of combi boilers, refurbishment of properties and the renewal of a 30-horsepower diesel engine on a sailboat. I have enjoyed the mechanical and problem-solving aspect of these jobs immensely and would like to pursue a career in this field of work.

Having had some work experience already, I have been made aware of the strict regulations and certifications that are required for employment within the gas industry.

I understand British Gas is a large company and for this reason and if I became successful in an apprenticeship, I would be keen to further my career if any other opportunities arose.

I have a clean driver's license and my own vehicle. I'm physically fit and play football at a high level. I have had to work hard to achieve my successes showing my determination and resilience. I also partake in the following sports: snowboarding, skiing, surfing and mountain biking. If I was to become successful in achieving a British Gas apprenticeship, I would also show good focus on customer service where my previous jobs have helped me to achieve client satisfaction.
