During the last 2 years I have worked as a Track Technician after my promotion from an operative position. I have shown my capacity to operate under stress since becoming part of this role while also assuming leadership duties. I have successfully managed teams during critical project tasks including rerails and crossing changes to finish work efficiently and safely at industry-leading standards. I have acquired experience through my work in establishing work sites and their management. I have managed track blocks while enforcing safety standards and supervising teams to achieve operational effectiveness. My experience in coordinating people within these environments has developed my leadership abilities, while expanding my knowledge of track maintenance operations. My two-year experience in track maintenance has motivated me to move forward in my career by learning more. The inspection position stands out to me because it will enable me to concentrate on railway maintenance, administration, and compliance work. I aim to build my skills in documenting track asset conditions, loose bolt defects, work order generation, and management. I want to develop my knowledge of high-speed railway standards because they are essential for network safety and efficiency. An inspection position would provide me with the opportunity to make strategic contributions by ensuring railway infrastructure meets standards, while developing my skills in documentation, compliance reporting, and asset management. My professional development in the rail industry will advance through this career path, which matches my long-term objectives.
