Triaging ambulance patients and ordering investigations with providing proper management till seen by the responsible SHO. Give Decisions and Direct FY, SHO and fellows on patient management plan. Attend and participate with the trauma call. Involved in working with resus and major types of patients. Engaged in teaching medical students and helping them develop their clinical skills. Performing ultrasound scan along with other procedures like placing chest drains and suturing. I am working 10 PA shifts.
I was responsible in clerking patients in a hospital that had 18 emergency beds plus 3 resus beds. I have actively managed acute cases along with pediatric trauma. I have worked 8 hours shift in a total of 48 hours a week. the amount of the patients vary from 25 to 30 patients. The Highest amount of the patient is within the geriatric degree. I have been involved in applying backslaps and suturing patients. I have been responsible for managing the patient individually and referring the patient to the required profession. I have been transferred to work in the medical and surgical department during shortage period where I was responsible managing ward patients and rounding with the consultants.
I was rotated between the green zone where we saw cold cases and Trauma, yellow zones where acute and more serious cases seen and the red zone where the most unstable patient where seen. The Physician responsible was actively managing the red zone cases and green zone cases. Red zone patients were seen by the emergency physician along with the emergency consultant. I have learned to perform FAST scan. Cardiac arrested was conducted by the emergency consultant and emergency physician. we actively managed Adult emergency along with pediatric trauma. we had 12 beds in the green zone, 20 beds in the yellow zone and 3 beds in the red zone.
I had 8 hours shifts which is about 46 hours a week . we performed procedures and management of patients individually and we would consult the consultant if any difficulty. Al Qassimi Hospital was the main hospital for Trauma cases along with other specialties. It was also the main cardiac center and stroke center. we see a diversity of cases in all specialties. I have attended many CMEs and seminars in our hospital which had to do with updating our ER management. the amount of patients seen per shift from 35 to 40 patients.
In the Emergency Departments I worked 8 hour shift which is equal to 36 hours per week. The emergency was actively managing adult cases as no pediatric department available. I clerked Patients and managed acute cases and referred to the appropriate department if admission was required. I have performed suturing of wounds. I was actively involved in managing Cardiac arrests and trauma cases. I see about 25- 30 patients per shift in an emergency department which had about 3 resus beds and 20 emergency beds and 1 dressing room. The emergency tends to be always crowded. I have participated in giving lectures in auditorium in the hospital and attended CMEs.

I was required to take history and examine the patient s and sometimes I was required to transfer patients whom are either suffering from Myocardial infarction by ambulance to a cardiac center. I have also done 24 hour on calls in which I assist our GP doctors in admitting patients and Ward work.
In the Surgical department I worked as a GP covering the hospital alone and individual management except for performing operations in which we had to call the consultant and assist him during the procedure. I have performed many procedures including inserting chest tube, ascetic taping, pleuritic tapping , urinary catheter insertion, NG tube, ABG, Blood culture, Bone Marrow Biopsy and Punch Biopsy.
I have attended many CMES and gave a lecture during the infection control conference about urinary catheter insertion. I have done suturing along with shoulder and elbow reductions. I have got many appraisal about my work ethic and my performance
I was an observer in the pulmonology Department where I did rounds with the consultant and attended procedures with the SHO. I have attended everyday from the morning to the afternoon.

During My internship I was responsible for taking history and examining patients and actively being involved in the management including inserting NG tube , Urinary catheter , punch biopsy, ascetic tap , Pleural tap, ABG and blood cultures. I was required to do 24 hours oncall along with rounding in the ward and actively seeing referred patients in the ER. I assisted in surgical procedures and involved in suturing wounds and debridement. I did case presentations and attending CMEs.
