Dr Sarah Hyland

A digital health venture translating infant-parent psychotherapy insights into accessible, psychology-informed tools for new and expecting parents. Currently in early-stage development and seeking partnerships through the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme and with other seed investors.

• My role involves providing clinical leadership from a psychological and trauma informed model of care across the perinatal and MMHS service. I am involved in providing individual and systemic support to women/birthing people who are pregnant, or up to 2 years postnatal, with a wide range of complex and severe mental health presentations. I receive monthly analytic supervision.

• I run a small private practice seeing clients for longer term psychotherapy work and shorter term EMDR for a variety of different mental health and relational difficulties.

• I worked within the Maternal Mental Health Service seeing women who had moderate to severe mental health difficulties as a result of their baby loss. My role included direct 1:1 client work, supervision of specialist midwives, assistant/trainee psychologists and CPN’s within the perinatal service.

• I saw clients for 1:1 short term psychotherapy. This was on a part time basis.

• I held a full caseload of 1:1 psychotherapy clients, working both short and longer term. I began the South Trent Training in Psychotherapy which consisted of weekly analytic seminars and presentations. I also began my own personal Jungian analysis during this time.
