Currently Russell works at Greenside Referrals in Scotland (UK). This practice was the first in this country to concentrate solely on regenerative medicine for musculoskeletal conditions and continues to lead this field.
Russell spent four years working in Hong Kong where he established the territory's first orthopaedic- and spinal surgery service.
He subsequently founded Alphavet Veterinary Centre and Alphavet Referrals in South Wales (UK), which he ran for more than two decades.
He was also employed for two years as a referral small animal surgeon at Mount Pleasant Veterinary Group in Singapore.
