Key responsibilities:

• Leading on whole school academic strategy and policy in conjunction with Head Master and Governors
• Leading on all aspects of teaching & learning, including establishment of a whole school Teaching & Learning Framework, focusing on evidence-informed best practice
• Leading on whole school curriculum development, including A Level, IBDP, IBCP, GCSE, KS1-3, together with literacy, numeracy, oracy, digital literacy and carbon literacy (sustainability), to ensure coherence and connection through whole school from 2-18
• Oversight of Learning Support Department
• Oversight of Futures in conjunction with Head of Careers
• Oversight of CPD
• Overseeing all aspects of academic scholarship and enrichment
• Leading on transition through whole school, with focus on primary to secondary
• Leading on all academic documentation relating to ISI Inspection
• Responsibility for planning, organisation and production of whole school timetable, including staffing and recruitment
• Design and implementation of digital learning framework, including leading on roll-out to 1:1 devices for staff and pupils in Prep and Senior Schools
• Line management of IB Coordinator, Director of Studies, Assistant Head (Academic) Prep, Assistant Head (Academic) Pre-Prep, Academic Coordinator, Head of Learning Support, Heads of Faculty, and Head of Careers
• Other responsibilities include teaching Biology and coordinating Medical School applications

Key responsibilities:

• Oversight of Years 7-9 including leadership and management of HOYs, tutors and prefects
• Leading pastoral care and PSHCE
• Development and implementation of PSB programme, focusing on a holistic approach including skills and character development enriched by experiential learning, independent enquiry and collaborative projects, outdoor education and service learning.
• Joint oversight of co-curricular programme for Years 7-9
• Joint oversight of academic monitoring and planning internal exam schedules
• Leadership of planning major events including prize giving and parent meetings

Additional projects:

• Design and introduction of bespoke curriculum for Years 3-6 focusing on skills, character and knowledge development with a pedagogical emphasis on digital wisdom, well-being and enquiry-led learning through interdisciplinary spheres of knowledge enhanced by integration of 1:1 chromebooks and establishment of STEM centre in the Prep School
• Leading on action research including collaboration on research projects with Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, and partnerships with local community groups and WE Schools, resulting in a Queen's Commonwealth Trust Award

• Leadership and management of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology departments, overseeing £100k+ refurbishment of science laboratories, establishment of highly successful CREST Award programme, development of curriculum in Y7-13 and raising department profile through establishing IGCSE, securing excellent results at IGCSE, A Level and IB, enrichment including lecture series and collaboration with external institutions including Dyson, Francis Crick Institute, Cambridge University, Oxford University and Ellen MacArthur Foundation
• Developed 2 year bespoke course 'Maths for scientists' to support students studying A Level sciences without Maths

• Leadership and management of a highly successful department with year on year improvement in subject IB results (consistently above 6.0 at HL and SL)
• Teaching IB SL & HL Biology and Environmental Systems & Societies
• Head of Oxbridge and Medical School applications (2013-14)

• Natural History Museum, London and University of Cambridge sponsored expedition to Thailand and India (Sept-Dec 2007) followed by full-time supply work Jan-Jul 2008; Protocol Education) in primary schools (KS1 & KS2) and teaching Mathematics (KS3/4) at Impington Village College, Cambridge, an IB World School (co-ed, 11-18) with 1400 pupils on roll
