Conduct comprehensive admissions, including medical, psychiatric, and addiction histories, mental state examinations (MSE), and withdrawal risk assessments.
Manage acute presentations alongside detoxification and stabilisation from substances such as alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines, using evidence-based protocols. Perform ongoing risk assessments and implement safety plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
Lead ward rounds, coordinate patient care, and oversee medication management, ensuring safe prescribing, and legal compliance. This period of experience provided me with an opportunity to work in the primary healthcare department, where outpatient services for day-to-day cases, basic obstetrical care including antenatal care, and preventive health services were performed.
