Hilton by DoubleTree – Façade Remediation (Involvement Prior to Completion)

The project involved the remediation of external façades, replacing combustible insulation with non-combustible materials. Works included the removal and reinstatement of ceramic cladding, like-for-like replacement of External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems with silicone render finishes, and the reinstallation of curtain wall spandrel fascias to match the original design.

My involvement covered the initial and enabling phases of the project, including site setup (welfare, scaffolding, and temporary works), coordination of cladding and EWI removal, and the early stages of installing new insulation and support systems.

Osprey and Kingfisher Court
Completed comprehensive façade remediation on two low-rise residential blocks. The works involved the removal of existing external wall insulation and installation of multiple interfacing systems, including:

• Wetherby Epistec Rail System with a silicone render finish
• Full replacement of all sheathing boards with Y-Wall board to enhance fire performance and improve substrate integrity

Peppermint Heights
Carried out targeted façade remediation works on a low-rise section of the building to support approval for full-building remediation. Scope included removal of part of the existing EWI system and sheathing, followed by installation of new sheathing, fire barriers, and partial installation of a new EWI system up to the scrim coat layer.

Hallam and Olivia Court
Completed comprehensive façade remediation on two low-rise residential blocks. The works involved the removal of existing external wall insulation and installation of multiple interfacing systems, including:

• Full replacement of all sheathing boards with Y-Wall board to enhance fire performance and improve substrate integrity

Garry Court
Delivered full façade remediation on a complex, mixed-use development comprising residential units above commercial premises. Scope included removal of existing external wall insulation and replacement with multiple interfacing systems:

• Wetherby Epistec Rail System with silicone render finish
• Wetherby Insulated Clay Brick Slip System to replace traditional brickwork
• Valcan Vitraduel Cassette System replacing original zinc cladding
• Complete removal of terracotta panels and replacement of all insulation and fire barriers
• Full replacement of sheathing board with Y-Wall board, including re-fixing of all original tiles

Templar House
Managed the removal of existing façade systems, including render-faced EWI and standing seam zinc cladding. Delivered the installation of a new A2-rated external wall insulation system and a replacement standing seam zinc cladding system, incorporating A1 fire-rated insulation to meet current fire safety standards.

Artesian House
Led the full removal of existing façade elements, including EPS/silicone render EWI, timber shiplap cladding, zinc cladding, and CP board. Managed the installation of a new fire-resistant façade system incorporating mineral wool/silicone render EWI, Rockpanel FS Extra Woods, and Rheinzinc cladding with mineral wool insulation. Scope included all associated backing structures and sheathing boards across a multi-storey building with variable heights and architecturally complex freeform curved planform walls.

EWI Installation – Various Addresses, Watford (2020)
Delivered external refurbishment works across 57 residential properties, significantly improving both aesthetic appeal and energy efficiency. Installed external wall insulation (EWI) systems to enhance thermal performance and reduce heat loss throughout all properties.

External refurbishment of 197 properties. External wall insulation both above and below DPC and associated enabling works.
