Wrote & submitted a comedy series proposal to Radio 4. BBC Broadcasting House, invited me down for a workshop. Actors read out part of script material, discussed accents & so on. The Producer asked me top develop two of the characters before it could be commsisioned for production. I flew home to Aberdeen, developed the characters, but meantime I had what is commonly known as a religious/spiritual transformative experience, so I abandoned my writing career in favour of studying at the University of Aberdeen, as a mature student, for a degree in Philosophy & Divinity.
Writing scripts, arranging interview guests for broadcast on Radio Clyde, with a social scheme. Whilst there I did a broadcast week for listeners interested in starting a small business. I wrote & designed an information pack that listeners could request in conjunction with the Small Firms Service & arranged a comprehensive event featuring stall holders from Glasgow Opportunities(The local enterprise board at the time), Scottish Cooperative Development Society, Shell Livewire, The Princes Youth Business Trust & others. The project was highly successful & Radio Clyde Commissioned the concept to be produced biennially & nominated it for a Sony award in the social impact group. During this time I was sent to Radio Tay in Dundee to learn Basic Broadcasting Techniques, editing, recording advertising spots for Boots the Pharmacy using my own voice.
