I am responsible for the daily running of an extremely busy and fast paced Secondary School kitchen.

I oversee a team of 6 members in assigning tasks for them to be completed in the time frame given, rotating and varying the tasks so all team members are confident in carrying out all the different jobs.

I adhere to all legal requirements making sure that all details are recorded effectively in accordance with Environmental Health and The food safety Law.

I carry out team meetings monthly to discuss any issues, raise any training that needs completing , to listen to any queries or concerns that any team member may have.

I undertake stock takes on a monthly basis this is to ensure that not only am I holding the right amount of stock but also to reduce food waste.

I am solely responsible for the ordering of all products from 4 major different suppliers, often having to think 3 to 4 days ahead, identifying what products are popular increasing the profit and the sales margin

I record the daily sales and report the weekly sales which on average is £10,250 per week.

I maintain a high level of cleanliness and organisation throughout the whole kitchen and storage areas.

I see in deliveries on a daily basis, checking and recording invoices, storing all supplies from frozen, to chilled to ambient products, ensuring that rotation of stock and conditions when storing is in relation to HACCP requirements and standards.

I undertake all tasks in the kitchen from making and cooking main meals, to preparing hand held food, also preparing fresh fruit and vegetables for deli pots.

I deliver excellent, fast and friendly customer service to not only the students but also to the staff and any visitors.

I mass cook for events upto 100 staff, calculating the cost per head, making sure that a profit is still achieved.

I carry out all daily checks on equipment to ensure that all food is being held at the right temperatures, this helps to reduce any waste and assists in the completing of the daily diary sheet.

Corresponding with the suppliers if there is an issue with the delivery or in the event of a recalled product.

I interview any applicants along with my area manager for any vacancies that we may have .
