Dominic Maxwell-Batten is a seasoned leader with a distinguished track record in the British Army, commercial innovation, and youth development. Over the course of his military career, Dominic held progressively senior command roles, each building on his deep capacity for leadership, strategic thinking, and operational delivery.
As a Platoon Commander, he was responsible for the training, welfare, and operational readiness of approximately 30 soldiers. This foundational leadership role required hands-on command in challenging environments, as well as the ability to build trust, cohesion, and resilience within a close-knit team.
Progressing to Company Commander, Dominic led a unit of around 120 personnel. In this role, he balanced tactical operations with broader administrative and strategic responsibilities, including mission planning, resource management, and the development of junior leaders. His command was marked by an emphasis on operational effectiveness, morale, and the professional growth of his soldiers.
As a Commanding Officer, Dominic assumed full responsibility for the command and operational performance of an entire military unit. This senior role required high-level coordination, policy implementation, and leadership of both officers and soldiers across complex deployments. He worked closely with senior stakeholders and partner organisations, often under demanding conditions, to deliver on both national and international objectives.
During his time in the Army, Dominic also played a pivotal role in delivering the Ten Tors Challenge on Dartmoor — a major youth endurance event organised by the military. As a senior officer, he helped oversee planning, safety, and execution, ensuring a transformative experience for thousands of young participants.
Following his military service, Dominic transitioned seamlessly into the commercial sector, where he served as Head of Commercial Development for a division of NatWest. There, he led initiatives at the cutting edge of the digital economy, driving innovation, customer-focused strategy, and sustainable growth.
