During my time as a prison officer, I developed skills in a range of different areas such as having to adapt under pressure as I had to make on the spot decisions which always had consequences. I worked in many different teams throughout my time here and progressed into a specialist role where I took on a lot of leadership. At times the job could be really challenging; sometimes being abused and threatened but having to remain professional at all times. I believe through my time here I have developed many different skills that can be used in a range of jobs.
While working as a county court bailiff I was mainly working solo and at times had to be in some very difficult situations. where I had to keep calm and a clear mind, but also had to show empathy and understanding as well as patience. All these skills have helped me to grow.
While working this job I had to stick to strict time deadlines to make my deliveries. I would be working as part of a team in the warehouse loading the van then on my own out delivering to customers.
Throughout my time at university I did agency work in hospitality, working many different events, doing anything from kitchen porter to serving wine and food.
