Work History

National Client Manager

DF Capital
Manchester
05.2022 - Current

As National Client Manager at DFC, I manage a portfolio of commercial vehicle and industrial equipment dealerships across the UK. I have developed strong product knowledge of our inventory finance solutions and a good understanding of our internal processes to enable me to best advise clients.

I have established and maintained strong relationships with clients, credit lines varying from £50k to £16.5m, using a consultative selling approach, taking time to fully understand the clients circumstances and requirements in order to provide a solution that works for both the customer and our bank.

I was recognised for an award in my first year at DFC for ‘Keeping us safe' after i uncovered fraudulent activity of one of our clients and was able to work promptly and effectively with other areas of the business to retrieve over £400k of debt within a matter of weeks.

A key achievement to date in my current role was actively prospecting and onboarding a new MFG program. From proactively using LinkedIn to generate the lead, I completed an initial call to qualify and sell DFC's product offering, arranging and completing a customer visit to affirm the deal and obtain key information for credit submission, submitting a strong application to underwriting for the full package: Floorplan, Unit Stocking & Short Term Rental, and finally signing up the customer and booking the first loan.

Key responsibilities:

  • Being the first point of contact for customers in my portfolio and guiding them on how the facility works and what we can offer.
  • Proactively engaging with my portfolio to ensure a full understanding of the products available and how we can support their growth.
  • Building strong relationships with clients across industries with varying requirements and understanding their facilities in depth. Knowing their individual needs/expectations and tailoring a solution around them.
  • Monitoring day-to-day client activity and ensuring they are operating within the agreed terms of the facilities by following up on audits and arrears.
  • Working closely with other functions in the business to achieve the best outcome for the customer and the bank.
  • Ensuring utilisation of agreed facilities by maximising opportunities in line with risk and business monitoring.
  • Ongoing verification of customer debt and liaising with manufacturer partners to ensure underlying security is always maintained.

Broker Support Manager

Wesleyan Bank Limited
Northwich, Cheshire
09.2018 - 04.2022

I have had great exposure to various asset finance deals and have developed a keen eye for knowing if a deal fits our lending criteria and lending policy. I enjoyed speaking to brokers on a day-to-day bases, whether that's working with them on a deal to get it over the line or prospecting them for more business. I have been on broker meetings around the UK and have presented our proposition and developed some great relationships with brokers in the industry, especially in the Northwest.

In 2019 I was awarded a Performance Excellence award for ‘Bright Beginnings' amongst the wider Wesleyan group, which illustrated my drive to succeed and stand out in the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing broker proposals through credit, requesting documents, managing pay-outs stage.
  • Manage expectations with brokers.
  • Present the proposition to new and existing brokers on the panel.
  • Prospect brokers for new business.
  • Building rapport and strong relationships with brokers.
