Accomplishments

Through hard work and an interest in both the companies and my colleagues Health and safety, I managed to gain promotion to assist the production manager in health and safety matters on the shop floor. After completing the IOSH managing safely I set up a health and safety committee that highlighted issues on the shop floor and gave the employees and other departments the chance to discuss issues and help prioritise matters. I then spent time learning and understanding the legal compliance needs of occupational health and safety through attending webinars, HSE news letters and attending one to one sessions with the Health and safety director of the group. Using the knowledge and experience had gained from shop floor auditing, mentoring health and safety committee meetings that I had set up I completed my NEBOSH general certificate which then allowed me to become the companies Health, safety and environmental officer.
