As a Dental Intern I have morning clinics where I triage patients, start initial treatments and refer to specialty clinics if needed.

While on placement in clinics (Radiology, Endodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Pathology, Oral Surgery, Communitive Dentistry) I present cases to the consultants and assist with them.

• Exposed and developed radiographic studies and polished study casts.
• Correctly administered local anesthetic and adjunctive therapies such as fluoride treatments and irrigation.
• Took impressions for retainers and appliances.
• Referred patients to specialists such as orthodontists, endodontists and oral surgeons based on individual needs.
• Assessed patients' oral health for concerns such as infection pockets and gingivitis.
• Checked teeth for signs of decay by assessing visually, manually and via radiography to recommend treatment options such as fillings and sealants.
• Removed old fillings and replaced with more modern, tooth-colored alternatives.
• Wrote prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications used to treat temporary or long-term dental issues.
• Exceeded goals through effective task prioritization and great work ethic.
• Proved successful working within tight deadlines and fast-paced atmosphere.
• Demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
