Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children is the largest free of charge Pediatric Hospital in Sri Lanka. It serves as the national referral center for pediatric care for Sri Lanka.

o History taking and examination of Paediatric patients including neonates.

o Cannulation and drawing blood for investigations from all paediatric age groups

This hospital is the first Maternity Hospital in Sri Lanka and second oldest maternity hospital in Asia. It provides more than 14000 maternity cases annually, most of which are high risk in nature. Duties and responsibilities

• Normal vaginal deliveries .

• Induction and augmentation of labour
• History taking and examination of obstetrics and Gynaecology patients (Including vaginal and speculum examinations).
• Taking high vaginal swabs, performing cervical smear tests.
• Early identification and management of Obstetrics and Gynaecological emergencies and escalate when necessary.
• Explaining available and suitable contraception options and educate patients regarding STIs.

• Assisting in theatre during Obstetric and Gynecological surgery.
