  • Senior Quantity Surveyor (Self Employed) on a £ 220 Million New Build Aldi distribution centre. Proposed scope of works includes the provision of 1 Million square feet of warehouse and office space.
  • The warehouse area includes the provision of highly automated storage and distribution equipment. Provision of Freezer and chilled storage areas. The provision of passenger and goods lifts and full office fit out.
  • There will 120 No HGV bays with a waiting area further 160 HGV’s and the provision of 300 car park spaces.
  • Programme of works will be approximately 160 weeks.
  • Procurement of Sub Contractor packages to date includes Earthworks, Sheet Piling Retaining Wall, Enabling Groundworks, Tarmacadam, Acoustic Fencing, Site Services and preliminaries packages including site accommodation including modular units, temporary site services including green alternatives, security, cleaning, provision of Information technology, Fire alarm and equipment package, Fencing and Barriers. The above packages procured to date totalled in excess of £ 35 Million.
  • The scheme was due to commence on site during the summer of 2024. However, due to planning matters commencement has now been deferred provisionally until late 2025.
  • Have been working simultaneously since mid 2024 on a £ 250 Million New Regional Aldi Distribution Centre in Leicestershire providing 1.3 Million square feet of highly automated warehouse and office space.

Works include groundworks, roads and drainage, steel frame, Roofing, cladding, industrial doors, glazed windows and doors, Internal concrete slabs, fire protection, blockwork, jumbo stud partitioning, scaffolding, plumbing and mechanical, electrical, partitions and ceilings, carpentry, joinery, decoration, floor finishes and external works including external concrete slabs, landscaping, tarmac, block paving, road markings, bollards and signage. Also provided a new 500 KVA substation and carried out installation and diversion of water mains.
  • Also carried out fit out works for purchasers of the units.
  • Barnack Estates are the developer on this project.
  • Also engaged on separate infrastructure project for an adjoining Landowner, Solai Investments (procured under the JCT Design and Build 2016 Contract).
  • Pre-Construction Phase, Setting up of the project budget (Baseline Cost and Value Report). Procurement of all sub contractor packages.
  • Sub Contractor Payments (issuing of payment notice’s). Commercial management ensuring maximisation of project profitability, Technical Fees, Statutory Authorities including new 500 KVA substation and water mains. External Client valuations (Producing Cashflow forecast and ensuring a healthy cash positive position at all times). CVR reports.

The combined heating and power supply was provided via an on-site energy centre. The provision of 11 No passenger lifts. The external envelope comprises of a Metsec external walling system facing brickwork, composite windows and curtain walling.

  • I also carried out estimating (through a PCSA) on a £ 45 Million scheme for the provision of 250 Units for Catalyst Housing Association. Worked alongside the pre - construction bid team in tendering the entire scheme.
