Proposed Doctoral Research

Proposed PhD Title

The Impact of Digital Transformation, Leadership Practices and Work Intensification on Employee Wellbeing and Operational Performance in UK E-commerce Fulfilment Centres: A Mixed-Methods Study

Research Summary

My proposed doctoral research aims to investigate how digital transformation, leadership practices, and work intensification influence employee wellbeing and operational performance within UK e-commerce fulfilment centres. Drawing on my academic background in International Business Law and my professional experience in warehouse operations, the study seeks to explore the relationship between technological change, leadership, and employee experiences in digitally enabled workplaces.

Using a mixed-methods approach that combines employee surveys and semi-structured interviews with employees and managers, the research will generate evidence-based recommendations to help organisations balance operational efficiency with employee wellbeing. The findings are expected to contribute to the fields of Operations Management, Leadership, Human Resource Management, and Digital Transformation by supporting the development of sustainable and people-centred management practices.
