My voluntary charity work has lead me to do so many things interesting things campaigning for children with complex heart conditions. Lecturing at Birmingham City University for over 20 years delivering a two hour session on an experience from a patients and parents perspective, answering questions from students who are studying nursing. I then went on to be a founder of a charity myself once we had charity commission status one of my first charity events was to organise and walk nearly 200 miles from Birmingham to Newcastle Upon Tyne.

I won the Dean's Award at Birmingham City University for my dedication of raising awareness of congenital heart disease and delivering two hour sessions to Nursing Students.
