Summary

My long experience as a crofter, working with endangered rare breed mega-herbivores led me to return to education to reinforce my practical skills with academic qualifications. I care passionately about the management of biodiversity and the use of mega-herbivores in rewilding and ecological restoration projects, and understanding the challenges faced under rapid climate change. I had been undertaking bloodline monitoring of the Exmoor pony population since the 1980s and was very aware of the genetic challenges they faced as an endangered breed. My Masters placement increased my understanding of the treat to plant communities in climactically challenging environments. This led me to develop my PhD plan, further influenced by visiting rewilding projects in Denmark and the Netherlands. I am now dedicated to putting my knowledge and experience to use in helping to shape and support restoration and rewilding projects. Energetic employee well-versed in strong communication and organisation skills. Seeks solutions to problems and applies extensive analytical knowledge to findings. Adept at multi-tasking, leading group discussions and managing projects.
