I have always worked in roles relating to supporting others.
I enjoy team working but am equally adept at lone working, time management, managing a high caseload and problem solving. I know when it is necessary to share information with a manager regarding day to day activities such as safeguarding self and others.
I am a committed employee which is reflected in my 19 years service with Havering.
I have in-depth knowledge of Children, Family and leaving care legislation but believe there is always more to learn!
I welcome, and learn from, constructive criticism.
I have strong values with respect to equality ensuring service provision is delivered appropriately and fairly. I regularly use interpreters to overcome language barriers and identify different cultural need. My work in speech therapy has given me further skills relating to alternative communication aids such as basic MAKATON sign language, lip reading and use of pictures/art.
