While in Cape Town, South Africa, I obtained several Sea Scout certificates. Through scouting, I learned many useful life skills, including leadership and teamwork. As a Sea Scout, I was occasionally responsible for leading my peers through activities, such as raft building. Additionally, scouting often involved competing against other scout groups, which taught me the importance of working as part of a team. Furthermore, I am also First Aid trained and have my L1 NPLQ life saving qualification which means I am legally allowed to monitor swimming pools and deal with injuries that may occur.
