-Remotely assessing patients via telephone triage within a call centre, providing advice and support utilising the NHS Pathways decision support system alongside my clinical judgment for the assessment of a range of medical conditions.
-Providing high quality evidence-based healthcare advice to determine the most appropriate levels of care and service, including emergency/non-emergency ambulance response, further treatment at a treatment centre or specialist care.

- Employed as a Paramedic within the justice system, assessing detainee's within the cell area.
-Undertake a CIWA-Ar (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol) assessment to determine if the patient can be treated safely whilst in custody and/or requires transfer to A&E.
- Undertake a COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) Assessment to determine if a patient can be treated safely whilst in custody and/or requires transfer to A&E.
-Assess other detainees and administer pain relief if required and antiemetics. Carry equipment to treat minor injuries.
-Determine if a patient requires further assessment and treatment in A&E for trauma and instruct staff in the cell area to call 999 with concerns regarding cardiac chest pain, difficulty in breathing, seizures and loss of consciousness.
-Liaise with mental health staff to share concerns regarding the patient to formulate the best plan whilst they are in custody, including a constant watch for vulnerable patients.
-Record all information accurately and concisely to ensure continuity of care if a patient is remanded in custody or requires transfer to
A&E.
-Log all information onto a paper Patient Report Form, transfer onto an app to submit after each case. To adhere to the confidentiality policy, all information (including photos of the PRFs) would be wiped from the phone, and the PRF's shredded.
-Adhere to the Infection Control Legislation, Procedures and Policies to eliminate, reduce, contain and manage infection and potential cross infection. Wearing appropriate PPE is essential to safeguard against contamination of self and others, as is the disposal of contaminated waste
as per the Infection Control Policy and Procedures.

Office based paramedic duties:
- Working as a member of the Clinical Validation Team within the Integrated Urgent and Emergency care control room.
- Assessing the health needs of a patient utilising clinical judgement supported by clinical decision software (PaCCS),
- The provision of advice and support to meet the identified needs of the patient and, where required, the onward referral to other services.
- Providing non-emergency transport for patients from their home address to attend hospital appointments.
- Providing transport for patients on discharge from hospital who are returning home or to a care facility for rehabilitation.

- Ensuring the vehicle is clean and roadworthy and all equipment is non-defective and present.
