In my current roll of Senior Support Worker i work collaborately with other teams within Trivallis, Money Advice team, Rent managers, repairs managers, Steps and Magpie. Safe have a tenure neutral contract, this has enabled me to gain experience with other social landlords and private rentals. I work closely with the customers to maintain their tenancy and ensure they are in affordible and sustainable accommodation, this include applying for Discretionary Housing Payments, Housing benefits claims or univeral credit applications. Discuss any change of circumstances that may have affected their ability to pay their rent. Complete budgeting plans, applying for grants such as Discretionary Assistance fund, Discretionary Housing Payment, agree a realistic payment plan to ensure future rent payments are affordable. This is completed face to face unless the customer requests over the phone support.
As well as holding a small caseload of customers to support, I manage a team of 9 Support Workers and manage a service of currently 420 customers receiving ongoing support. My role is to support staff to deliver an excellent service to all customers, train new starters on IT systems, Dynamics, CDPSoft, locality, sharepoint and am the power user for the new learning system.
Supporting tenants in their own homes, applying for housing related benefits, completeing safety checks, testing fire alarms, Emergency pullcords, legionella checks, reporting repairs, Ateending emergencies on the OOH rota.
