As a head of year in a UK school, I was responsible for the pastoral care of the students in my year group. This included safeguarding, managing behavior, responding to data, , monitoring, supporting and encouraging students, ensuring all reach their full potential. I was responsible for the form tutors in the year team, making decisions regarding the content of the tutor time, the delivery of PSHE, and the running of assemblies.
As a Head of Drama I was responsible for leading, developing and evaluating drama across the school, promoting diversity and inclusion. I organised the administrative operation of the drama department, and was responsible for ensuring all pupils made excellent progress, developing their technical, performance and evaluative skills. I supported colleagues in their delivery of their annual performance and developed the co-curricular programme for the students.
As a new teacher of dance my role was to introduce dance at KS3 to all students, encouraging creative and physical development. I initiated a wide and varied co-curricular programme and had a specific focus on developing dance for boys within the school.
