David (Ted) Powles

My interest in engineering and boats has been with me since boyhood and i'm pleased that i have been able to work up to a job that draws on my experience in making and mending and my understanding of physical materials. I have always felt it important to develop a skill set that is of practical use and that is helpful to others. The skills i have collected over the last twenty years seem ideally suited to the appraisal of and reporting on the condition of boats.

• I play the anglo-concertina in a busy folk duo with my wife and started a community shanty singing group fifteen years ago which this year is going international. I've learned a smattering of Anglo Saxon and Welsh to help me further my reading on the history of post roman Britain. I am also a keen and competent roller skater.
