  • Company Overview: I was employed in the IT Systems Support department of Hyndburn Borough Council in Accrington for over 21 years

  • In 2020 we migrated to a hybrid Microsoft 365 solution for a combined on-premises and cloud delivery of Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365 and Exchange, where I assisted in managing these systems’ users and network resources
  • For the last decade I was solely responsible for upgrading the Capita Benefits, Council Tax and Business systems that ran on Linux Enterprise server and Ingres 11
  • This included designing Group Policies for automated deployment and updates of the Capita Windows clients
  • I maintained the Council’s Electronic Document Management system and designed all the automatically printed and emailed correspondence that was produced by the Capita Business systems
  • I used VMware’s vSphere 6 to create and maintain virtual Windows and Linux servers and PCs and we had around 100 virtual systems in our vSphere virtual estate
