  • Brass bands: The standard was extremely high and we represented Ireland at the European championships. Ensembles include: Strabane Concert Brass, St. Josephs Brass band, Western Youth Orchestra & Queens University orchestra. As a tutor for the Western Education & Library board I have taught the following: French horn, Trumpet, Cornet, Baritone, Eb horn, Eb Tuba, Trombone & Euphonium I toured with The Drifters as their trumpet player.
  • David Oliver: As an artist I wrote original songs, gained extensive radio airplay, performed on Irish TV & BBC, wrote for established country acts, produced albums, wrote an original musical, performed in numerous bands and played several festivals.
  • Song writing credits: I have always loved writing songs and have worked with some very talented people! ‘I will be your man’ & ‘Chasing rainbows’ as David Oliver & ‘C’mon Donegal’ & ‘Donegal’ for highland radio & the Donegal team Derek Ryan – ‘Hold on to your hat’, ‘Flowers in your hair’, ‘I got my baby back’ & ‘The busking balladeer’ ‘Times are going to change’ for Derry City Capital of Culture 2013 ‘Home to me’ & ‘No Alibi’ with Cat Mac Ginty (Eurovision/RTE singer) ‘Balo of the jungle’ – Children’s musical
  • Musical Director: I have gained invaluable experience as a Musical Director for shows such as West side story, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Queen, All shook up, Hairspray and many more. This has greatly improved my conducting, singing, general musicianship and ability to work closely with others.
