David Norton

Rugby,England

Summary

My name is David Norton , i am 58 years old ,live in Barby Warwickshire with my wife Kerry and 2 adult children Harry and Molly. Outside of work i like to spend quality time with the family , i have recently started to try and improve my cookery skills.

I played Cricket for many years mainly with my local team at Barby and after finishing playing i have now become Director of Cricket at the club.

i have been employed at the service repair centre in Rugby for 42 years covering several different owners but always as part of the maintenance team. I completed a 4 year apprenticeship and moved to the maintenance department employed as an electrician.

Through the years there have been many changes going from 30 maintenance engineers down to now when i am the only permanent maintenance member of staff. The job role has also changed from being purely an electrician doing installation , power and lighting repairs to now having to do mechanical and electronic repairs also.

I am also responsible for ordering spare parts , completing a variety of Health and Safety checks including monthly fault reporting on various pieces of equipment , attending meetings and giving feedback.

The job role has become all consuming which is why i am looking at change and feel like this opportunity would allow me to start enjoying work again in a different environment
