From a young age, I have always pushed myself to go beyond what was expected. Growing up in a challenging environment, education took a backseat to the need to earn a living, and I began working full-time at just 15. Although I had aspirations of continuing my studies, circumstances led me down a different path. In 1983, I left Dublin for the UK in search of better opportunities, only to find that starting over was more difficult than I had imagined.
In 1984, I joined the RAF, marking the beginning of a journey that shaped both my character and my career. Throughout my life, I have worked hard to prove myself as someone who is dependable, committed, and willing to take on challenges. That determination has opened doors to incredible opportunities, each one reinforcing my passion for helping others.
One of the most humbling experiences of my career was working in the homelessness sector. Supporting people in some of the most difficult circumstances was deeply rewarding, and being entrusted with the role of Director of Operations remains a privilege that I carry with immense gratitude. My journey has been one of perseverance, learning, and a steadfast commitment to making a difference wherever I can.
