Key Responsibilities

  • In-Year Financial Analysis & Reporting: Support robust financial monitoring with regular management reporting. The analysis involves interrogating Unit4 and ContrOCC (via PowerBI dashboards) data to understand trends, support with forecasting and to highlight risks.
  • Strategic Financial Advice (MTFS): Provide strategic financial advice for medium-term financial planning, including determining estimated values for demand pressures and fee uplift contingencies.
  • Annual Budget Setting: Lead the annual budget setting and realignment process for Adult Social Care (ASC). Support the service in developing savings proposals and profiling budget impacts, including full-year effects.
  • Project Finance Support: Supported as a strategic finance partner to the ASC transformation programme. Model preventative interventions, estimating cost implications and translating findings into budget cycle updates, including adjustments to the MTFS following pilot stages.
  • Line Management: Coordinate team workloads in a hybrid environment. Experience of recruitment, induction, and supporting colleagues through phased returns to work. Regular reviews to support the development and wellbeing of the team, ensuring robust service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships through weekly Director meetings, translating complex financial data into accessible formats. Chair the ASC finance group to guide Heads of Service on budget pressures using PowerBI trend analysis.
