ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) Department

• Working within the ANPR Unit I'm involved in the day to day monitoring of all the ANPR cameras within Scotland whilst assisting officers with their related enquiries.
• Assisted in the development and presentation of an effective training program relating to the camera system and it's associated search facility to assist officers in their understanding and correct operation of the system.
• Involved in the day to day running of a UK wide operation to identify all non insured vehicles being driven on the roads. Research databases, contact members of the public informing them of the findings and provide corrective advice whilst showing tact and diplomacy.

Confidential Unit (Specialised Crime Division)

• In my principal role within the Confidential Unit I was responsible for the assessment and dissemination of real time sensitive intelligence involving Serious and Organised Criminals operating in Scotland. It was imperative that I carried out my duties in an accurate and timely manner to enable senior officers to progress and strategise their investigations.
• Developed and maintained cooperative relationships with other law enforcement agencies with the purpose of sharing confidential material to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of Serious and Organised Criminals.
• Received personal recognition for my expertise in the application of Police information systems and databases for real time information gathering, analysis and dissemination which assisted in the apprehension of an Organised Crime Group and recovery of drugs and money worth in excess of two million pounds.

Divisional Drugs Coordinator - Divisional Intelligence Unit, Livingston.

• My role as the Divisional Drugs Coordinator involved me managing and analysing all local drugs intelligence, identifying crime patterns and compiling detailed written reports of my findings.
• Liasing with Procurator Fiscals and Sheriffs, using effective and concise communication to convey my concerns and details of my written reports, successfully obtaining enforcement warrants for those concerned.
• Built positive relationships and support with community members by regularly attending local events and forums, offering friendly interaction and actively listening to issues relating to drug trends, outlining my role and updating them in relation to ongoing enquiries and successful interventions in reducing drug offences in the area.

• My role as a uniformed officer consisted of me working and patrolling in a large Force area, responding to calls of varying severity, whilst displaying empathy, compassion and respect for diversity. Developed the ability to remain calm and think strategically in high pressure situations whilst demonstrating sound judgement under pressure to maintain safety for people and property.
• Consistently met and exceeded performance targets in areas including crime reduction, problem solving and community engagement. Gaining investigative skills and knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and procedures.
• Led and mentored probationer constables in their learning and understanding of their role, encouraging growth and development, as well as providing additional support when required.
