Having joined the workforce as a sales rep with a degree in history, a career in Software Testing was a surprise to all, not least myself. Whilst working as the Sales Manager with duties of project managing clients, I discovered my meticulous nature had an industry where those traits were welcomed. Since then I have progressed my way to the Test Lead/Test Manager level I now find myself at. I have learned technical skills on the job and through committing myself to learning outside of work and am usually enrolled on some sort of course! I am a strong believer that skills, both soft and technical, should always be improved upon when the opportunity is there. My main professional goal is to find a company that can help me channel my ambition and to continue to progress. I actively enjoy engaging with people with a varied background that I wish to find a position that utilises the skills I have developed.
For clarity, I have been employed at QualiTest for 12 years in two separate occasions. I have combined the periods May 2017 to present and March 2011 to February 2016. At QualiTest I have worked on multiple project in various industries. After starting as a Sales Manager, I moved into testing after showing an aptitude for the role, whilst acting as a stand in project manager for Crowdsourced testing, a role I returned to later on in the employment. I am comfortable with operating as a hands on tester and working in a leadership role concurrently.
Having relocated to Guatemala, I set on a new challenge of creating a partnership model with QA Mentor. After discussions with the CEO, we agreed on a partnership that would allow me to use the resources of the company to bring it's services to new markets, principally Central America and the UK, while splitting the profits made in these new ventures.
During this time I was responsible for:
Sales
undefinedI am a keen sportsman approaching his "coaching years". I am the social secretary for Rockleaze Rangers FC, a team I have been involved with since I was 6 years old and manage the 'B' team there. For my sins, I support Bristol City. I also play and umpire cricket, surf and boulder. I have a passion for military strategy gaming as part of my wider interest in general history. Having worked in Guatemala, I speak reasonable Spanish and constantly try to improve my ability outside work.
