When I left school in 1990, I went straight into work, for the family coach & transport business that my father run.
Firstly I learnt all about coaches, mini buses and how they worked, I often went on break down calls with my dad if it was needed. Through this I learnt problem solving, running the business successfully, and even the mechanic skills needed to maintain & look after a fleet of service vehicles.
At 21 I took my PCV test and passed, when my dad retired I took over the role of being a coach operator, This involved me leading & supporting a team of drivers to deliver high quality customer service as well organising the operations of the company, I often supported the mechanics to maintain the vehicles, when it was needed. This involved, MOT's, repairs & general maintenance of the vehicles.
